Modernization of Higher Education in Europe 2014: Access, Retention and Employability

The Eurydice report “Modernization of Higher Education in Europe 2014: Access, retention and Employability was recently published on 22nd May. This is the second report in a series that intends to follow the development of the agenda for the modernization of higher education in Europe. This report analyses the measures undertaken by the Governments and Higher Education Institutions of more than 30 countries, amongst which is Portugal, in three stages of higher education: 1) Access; 2) Retention, including progression through the study programme; and 3) Employability.

This report shows amongst many other things that although there are many countries that gather information about their student population, the analysis of the data that is collected doesn’t have a direct impact on the outline of related policies and has no link to the goals that are established.
